  • On May 16, 2020: Three MPD officers were dispatched to a residence on McClellan, reference a possible violation of Shelter in Place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reporting party alleged his neighbor was operating an auto detailing business out of his garage. When officers arrived on scene, they found the garage door open with the homeowner being in the company of two males and two females. The garage was full of auto detailing material with two vehicles in the driveway. It appeared as if the male was running an auto detail business at his residence.

The officers made contact and subsequently ran the individuals for wants and warrants. The homeowner was found to be on probation for narcotics possession with search and seizure. By this time, two additional MPD officers arrived on the scene. The officers then searched the homeowner and his residence. The homeowner was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. He was cited and released for the violation. One of the males was found to be on mandatory supervision for prior sales of narcotics with search and seizure. He was found to be in possession of narcotics paraphernalia as well as Medical Grade Vials of Morphine, Alfentanil and Fentanyl. He was cited and released for the violation. One of the females was found to be on probation for traffic violations. Initially, she provided the officers with false identification information. The officers obtained a DMV photo, which did match. She later provided her true identity. She was cited and released for the violation.

This was an example of great police work. The officers should be commended for outstanding teamwork as well.
