Prescription Drop Off

/Portals/4/Images/Frame2-PharmDrop.pngThe City of Monterey has a pharmaceutical drug take back program available to the public. The public may safely and anonymously dispose of unused/expired prescription or over-the-counter medication through the City's Prescription Drug Drop Box Program. No needles, syringes or liquids are accepted. 

While the front lobby is still closed due to the pandemic, people can use the call box and a records clerk on-duty will be able to assist with retrieving the prescription drugs. The items need to be in a bottle with a prescription label that has a name of the prescriber and the name of the drug. If the drugs are loose or in an unlabeled container, they can be dropped off at CHOMP or the Pacific Grove Police Department drop off location.

The drop off box is located in the lobby of the Monterey Police Department at 351 Madison Street.

On August 29th, 2020 at approximately 4:58 PM, a Monterey Police Officer observed a black Dodge Ram 2500 truck traveling on Del Monte Avenue near English Avenue violating the vehicle code. The officer attempted to stop the driver and the subject refused to stop and a short pursuit ensued, wherein the suspect drove in an erratic and dangerous manner. On September 2nd, 2020 at 2:30 PM, Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to the Monterey Peninsula College at 980 Fremont regarding a report of a burglary. Electronic items including laptops and camera equipment were reported stolen. During the subsequent investigation, officers located video surveillance footage of the suspect during the burglary. 08/28/2020: Search Warrant and Arrest

On August 26, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Monterey Police Department (MPD) Detectives, with the assistance of the Seaside PD, Marina PD, and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), served a search warrant in the 1400 block of Via Isola, Monterey. The search warrant was a result of a narcotics investigation involving drug sales and a drug overdose involving the residence. NEWS RELEASE

The National Weather service has issued a red flag warning - a warning that another weather system is in the forecast that includes potential lightning storms.
