Prescription Drop Off

/Portals/4/Images/Frame2-PharmDrop.pngThe City of Monterey has a pharmaceutical drug take back program available to the public. The public may safely and anonymously dispose of unused/expired prescription or over-the-counter medication through the City's Prescription Drug Drop Box Program. No needles, syringes or liquids are accepted.

While the front lobby is still closed due to the pandemic, people can use the call box and a records clerk on-duty will be able to assist with retrieving the prescription drugs. The items need to be in a bottle with a prescription label that has a name of the prescriber and the name of the drug. If the drugs are loose or in an unlabeled container, they can be dropped off at CHOMP or the Pacific Grove Police Department drop off location.

The drop off box is located in the lobby of the Monterey Police Department at 351 Madison Street.

When officers arrived on scene they were advised one of the males in the group was in possession of a handgun and had brandished it during the altercation by lifting up his shirt and displaying the gun tucked into his waistband.
