On December 30th, 2021 at approximately 6:03 p.m., Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Dela Vina Avenue for a report of a shooting. Victims and witnesses reported they were standing in the parking lot of an apartment complex when they were approached by the suspect who was driving his vehicle. The suspect was an acquaintance and known to some of the victims. The suspect threatened one of the victims and then drove out of the parking lot onto Dela Vina. As the suspect drove on Dela Vina, he fired multiple shots from a handgun towards the victims. No victims were hit, however bullets struck a fence, dumpster, and nearby cars.
