On October 6th, 2021 at approximately 7:07 p.m., the Monterey Fire Department and Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to a structure fire in the 600 block of Hoffman Avenue.  Upon arriving at the location, heavy smoke and flames were observed from a two-unit duplex structure.  Both units of the duplex were evacuated and no injuries were reported.  Monterey Firefighters contained the fire to the one building and extinguished it.  The fire appeared to have started inside one of the duplex units and caused significant damage to the interior.  Four persons were displaced by the fire.
