We are offering a $5 Amazon eCard to a random winner chosen from the comment section. Winner will be announced the following Friday.

Episode Two: The Renegades Trilogy

Every Tuesday (around noon)

It's time to conquer our TBW (to be watched) lists. But it's no fun do this alone. Let's binge-watch together. Teen Librarian Eboni picks a show to binge and challenges you to watch it as well. Teens are encouraged to participate in the comment section, sharing what they've been watching or hope to watch and offer recommendations. Also, the floor is opened to discuss the mentioned show.  We are offering a $5 Amazon eCard to a random winner chosen from the comment section. Winner will be announced the following Tuesday.

Next Big Teen Book Release

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

by Suzanne Collins

Ambition will fuel him.
Competition will drive him.
But power has its price.

It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the tenth annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to outcharm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute.
The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low. Their fates are now completely intertwined — every choice Coriolanus makes could lead to favor or failure, triumph or ruin. Inside the arena, it will be a fight to the death. Outside the arena, Coriolanus starts to feel for his doomed tribute . . . and must weigh his need to follow the rules against his desire to survive no matter what it takes.

Release Date: May 19, 2020

Teens Talk About Books

Because we know you get tired of reading so much blah, blah about how good certain books are, we thought we'd let some teens TELL you how good they are.  Click on the books below to hear what your peers have to say. (The link will take you to the library's YouTube Channel.)

If you are a Monterey County Teen and you are interested in participating and making a book review, please contact Eboni at: harris@monterey.org.
