The Monterey Public Library and the Monterey Public Library Endowment Committee present Brian J. Ellinoy, Pharm.D. discussing An Integrative Approach to Insomnia on Thursday, May 5, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., in the Library Community Room. Do you have difficulty with initially falling asleep or getting back to sleep after waking in the middle of the night? Keeping oneself healthy requires good sleep. Dr. Ellinoy will discuss the basics of sleep hygiene and offer some integrative approaches to help you get the good sleep you need. The lecture is is part of new series of programs, Next Chapter: Designing Your Ideal Life, which include health and well-being, planning for the future, following ones spirit and other interesting topics for the second half of life.
In addition to government service, academia, and community practice as a pharmacist, Dr. Ellinoy was a staff clinical pharmacist at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for more than twenty years. While there he developed an intense interest in herbs, supplements and other complementary therapies. A growing personal appreciation of the need for an integrative approach to facilitate health and healing (nurturing mind, body, and spirit) motivated him to obtain additional training and open a part-time private practice as an integrative pharmacist consultant. He is currently affiliated with Serrena, the Center for Integrative Therapies in Ryan Ranch www.integrativepharmacist.com
