“Books in Bloom”, the 3rd annual benefit for the Monterey Public Library, will take place on Sunday, November 6, 2016, 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. The event celebrates the publication of author Frances Schultz’s book, The Bee Cottage Story:  How I Made a Muddle of Things and Decorated My Way Back to Happiness.  The event features an Artisans Marketplace, lunch, author presentation, and a memorable sensory experience.  The luncheon and lecture will take place at the Monterey Plaza Hotel, Monterey Bay Ballroom, 400 Cannery Row, Monterey.  Cost is $95 per person or $160 for two.  A book signing will follow the luncheon.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.mplfriends.com, by phone, or in person at the Monterey Public Library, 625 Pacific St., Monterey.  Contact Sirie Thongchua for more information (831) 646-5632 or thongchu@monterey.org.  RSVP by October 28.

Inspired by Frances Schultz’s popular House Beautiful magazine series on the makeover of her house, Bee Cottage, what began as a decorating book evolved into a memoir combining the best elements of both:  beautiful photos and a compelling personal story.
