On Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 6:30 – 7:45 p.m., Josh Mitteldorf, Ph.D., will discuss his latest publication, Cracking the Aging Code:  The New Science of Growing Old – And What It Means for Staying Young, co-authored with Dorion Sagan, at the Monterey Public Library.  In this lecture you will learn a revolutionary examination of why we age, what it means for our health, and how we just might be able to fight it.  Theoretical-biologist Josh Mitteldorf has a PhD from UPenn.  He runs the website AgingAdvice.org, and writes a weekly column for ScienceBlog.com.  Mitteldorf has had visiting research and teaching positions at various universities including MIT, Harvard, and Berkeley.  Books can be purchased at the lecture and Mitteldorf will be available to sign books.  This event is part of The Next Chapter: Designing Your Ideal Life lecture series sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Monterey Public Library Endowment Committee.  Adults are invited to attend.  Admission is free, and reservations are required.  Call (831) 646-5632 or email thongchu@monterey.org.  The Monterey Public Library is located at 625 Pacific Street, Monterey.
