Monterey County Superior Court issued a decision on February 19, 2020 in favor of the City of Monterey in the case of Burlingame Investments, LLC vs City of Monterey. NEWS RELEASE IN PDF
In 2020, the City of Monterey is celebrating the 250th anniversary of its founding in 1770. The Monterey City Council has chosen a 15-foot abalone sculpture to commemorate this historic milestone. San Carlos Beach Park was picked as the location for the ceramic tile artwork and it will be unveiled in June of 2020. News Release in PDF
In partnership with the City of Monterey and other local agencies, the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau created a comprehensive Monterey Car Week packet of resources along with a guide to the events. Monterey Car Week, August 9 – 18, is one of the biggest annual events on the Peninsula. With tens of thousands of visitors expected, traffic and parking will be impacted. The community is invited to a public informational session hosted by the City of Monterey and Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS). A panel of representatives from multiple agencies with regulatory oversight authority over cruise ship operations will present information, answer question cards from the public, and address environmental concerns related to large cruise ships visiting Monterey Bay.
