Outdoor Dining & Heaters in Monterey: What You Need to Know, Dec 1, 2020, 9:30 AM You're invited to an informational session on outdoor heaters for outdoor dining in the City of Monterey. This session will cover fire code and building code regulations as it relates to outdoor dining, and will be informative for any Monterey restaurateur, from Cannery Row and the Wharves to Old Town Monterey and North Fremont Street.
On November 17, 2020, the Monterey City Council authorized the use of outdoor heaters on the City's municipal wharves as long as those heaters are compliant with any conditions set by the City’s Fire Marshal. Since then, there has been several questions and concerns about the use of outdoor heaters and the permitting process.
Hosted by the Monterey City Manager's Office and featuring the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Marshal, Building Inspection staff, and Code Compliance staff.
2020 has been an unprecedented year for wildfires in California. It's important that we all be prepared. The Fire Safe Council for Monterey County developed a FREE online workshop, WILDFIRE & YOU, that you can take at any time to help protect your life and home in event of wildfires https://firesafemonterey.org/workshops.html
