Monterey drivers now have the option to pay for parking from their mobile devices. The ParkMobile app is available at approximately 2,000 spaces in most Cannery Row, Downtown, and Waterfront parking lots. Get all the details on the ParkMobile web page. The City of Monterey operates 31 parking facilities with approximately 3,500 off-street parking spaces. Our facilities range from 10-space parking lots to the 1003-space Cannery Row Parking Garage. For your convenience parking lots and garages are located throughout the City. Affordable, safe and clean parking is never more than a few blocks away from where you want to be! In addition to off-street parking spaces, there are over 3,000 on-street spaces in the Downtown, Cannery Row and Lighthouse areas of the City.
The City's parking management program is designed to improve parking and traffic flow in our City. The Parking Division works with businesses, residents, institutions and visitors alike to meet their diverse parking needs. We count on the support and cooperation of everyone to make our parking management program a success and to enhance pedestrian safety, smooth traffic flow and to allow public transit and emergency vehicles to reach their destinations. The Parking Division operates under the Public Works Department.
The following days are City observed holidays. Please note: Beachfront, Lighthouse District, Cannery Row and Waterfront areas are enforced everyday.
The Parking Division now accepts online credit card payments to renew your parking permit. You will need your account number, which is located on your invoice, to register. Permits renewed online must be renewed by the last calendar day of the month.
Payments received after the grace period for Downtown East Garage, Downtown West Garage and Cannery Row Garage will not be renewed. Please call the Parking Division Office, (831) 646-3953, for reactivation and payment.

Parking citations may be paid by personal check, money order or credit card (convenience fee charged). Instructions for each option are listed below. To contest your parking citation, you must follow the Administrative Review Process.
1. Pay Citation by Check of Money Order: To pay your citation with a personal check or money order. (no cash accepted). Mail the citation with the appropriate payment to: City of Monterey Office of Parking Violations P.O. BOX 1930 San Jose, Ca. 95109 2. Pay Citation with Credit Card: Citations may be paid with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) over the phone or through the internet. Pay by Phone: Dial toll free 1-855-597-5252. Please have your citation number or license plate number available.
