Are you creative, responsible, enthusiastic, enjoy being around children and working outdoors? If your answer is yes, we have the perfect summer job for you! Applications for Day Camp Counselors, Playground Leaders, Resident Camp Cook, Resident Camp Counselors, Resident Camp Support Staff, and Field Sports Recreation Leaders are now being accepted at the Monterey Recreation office. Applicants need to be 16 years of age or older. Application deadline is Friday, March 16 at 5:00 p.m. All applicants will be invited to a group leader assessment interview on Saturday, March 24, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Employment will begin in June. Those hired must be able to work the entire summer.

The Zumbini program combines music, dance and educational tools for 45 minutes of bonding, learning and fun! Zumbini classes always include a parent or legal guardian for each child. 11/29/2017: Historic Downtown Monterey's Traditional Tree Lighting on Colton Hall Lawn, Dec. 1, 2017

All are cordially invited to Monterey’s Community Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration, this Friday, December 1 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Join us on the lawn in front of Colton Hall to share in this traditional, much-loved Monterey holiday celebration. This free holiday event features a performance by Monterey’s Community Band.
