04/11/2019: Narcotic Sales Arrest


On April 10th, 2019 at 1:22 PM, PRVNT, with the assistance of the Seaside Police Department and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant in the 1700 block of Kenneth Street, Seaside. Upon searching the residence, detectives located approximately a half pound of methamphetamine, one ounce of heroin, two pounds of marijuana, and numerous prescription pills. Detectives also located scales, bags, and other evidence of ongoing narcotic sales at the residence.

Test of the Public Emergency Evacuation Route Through the Presidio of Monterey on Sat. April 13 from 9-11 a.m.

The City of Monterey, Monterey Fire and Police Departments, and the Presidio of Monterey are planning a test of an emergency evacuation route for the public through the Presidio from Pine Street to High Street gates. On Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. residents will have an opportunity to use the travel route to test the mechanics of a potential evacuation through the Presidio of Monterey. In March of 2019, Monterey Peninsula law enforcement agencies observed an increase in vehicle thefts. The following agencies reported vehicle thefts in that month:
Marina Police Department – 7 vehicle thefts.
Seaside Police Department – 9 vehicle thefts.
Monterey Police Department – 6 vehicle thefts.
Pacific Grove Police Department- 2 vehicle thefts.
Carmel Police Department – 1 vehicle theft.

03/12/2019: Homicide and Arson Arrest

On Thursday, March 7, 2019, at approximately 3:26 PM, Presidio of Monterey (POM) Police and Fire responded to a structure fire on POM property at 412 Brittany Road Seaside. Upon extinguishing the fire, a deceased male was located inside the residence along with evidence the fire may have been set intentionally. Due to the condition of the body, the cause of death and identity was not immediately known.

On December 28th, 2018, the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team and the Seaside Police Department conducted a probation compliance check in the 1700 block of Laguna Street in Seaside. During the compliance check, two handguns, cocaine, over 800 counterfeit prescription pills, a scale, packaging materials and over $5,000 cash were seized.

On December 21, 2018 at approximately 9:11 p.m., Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to the Monterey Transit Plaza regarding a stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers found one male victim stabbed in the neck.

Local media is invited to attend a press conference scheduled for November 29th, 2018 at 1:00PM. The press conference will be held at the Seaside City Council Chambers, located at 440 Harcourt Ave, Seaside Ca 93955. During the press conference, arrests will be announced regarding the investigation of the 2014 murder of Andre Jacobs.
