The Monterey City Council encourages Monterey residents to apply for volunteer positions on various Boards and Commissions.  One seat is available to fill a recent vacancy on the Architectural Review Committee, with a term due to expire on June 30, 2019, and the potential for reappointment at that time.

Serving on a Board or Commission is a great way to get involved in what makes Monterey a great place to live.  Information on the responsibilities of the Architectural Review Committee and applications are available online at https://monterey.org/City-Hall/Boards-Commissions-and-Committees.  Applications are also available at the City Clerk’s Office, 580 Pacific Street, Room 6.

11/09/2018: Narcotic Arrests

On November 9, 2018 at 11:44 A.M. the Marina Police Department and PRVNT conducted a parole search in the 100 block of Reservation Road in Marina. As a result of the search, officers located over one pound of narcotics including ten ounces of methamphetamine, one ounce of heroin, and seven ounces of marijuana. Officers also located numerous pieces of narcotics sales indicia including bags, scales, and cell phones.

McclureCity Manager Hans Uslar announced today the appointment of Kristi McClure Huckaby as Parks and Recreation Director. Ms. Huckaby has over 25 years’ experience working in and managing Parks and Recreation Departments in Southern California; cities both large and small, including the cities of Long Beach, Downey, Signal Hill, Placencia, Sierra Madre, Chula Vista, and most recently the City of Corona.

The Monterey City Council encourages Monterey residents to apply for volunteer positions on various Boards and Commissions. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, to fill expiring terms to the following commissions:

  • Historic Preservation Commission (4 seats)
  • Museum and Cultural Arts Commission (3 seats)
  • Parks and Recreation Commission (4 seats)

Serving on a Board or Commission is a great way to get involved in what makes Monterey a great place to live. Information on the responsibilities and duties of each Board or Commission and applications are available online at https://monterey.org/City-Hall/Boards-Commissions-and-Committees.
