The Monterey Community Band presents; “The Sound of Music” a concert conducted by Kristen Thompson which will feature “The Sound of Music Medley” arranged by Robert Russell Bennett, “Looney Tunes Overture” arranged by Bill Holcombe, “Disney at the Movies” arranged by John Higgins, “How Brightly Shines the Morning Star” by Johann Sebastian Bach as well as some popular holiday tunes and more! The concert will be held at the Monterey Peninsula College Music Hall on Sunday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. The Zumbini program combines music, dance and educational tools for 45 minutes of bonding, learning and fun! Zumbini classes always include a parent or legal guardian for each child. The Zumbini program combines music, dance and educational tools for 45 minutes of bonding, learning and fun! Zumbini classes always include a parent or legal guardian for each child. After registering, please contact Group Exercise Coordinator, Lauri Ataide at 646-3739 or email@example.com for instructions on how to purchase the $35 Zumbini class bundle needed for class (includes songbook/lyrics for class songs and a plush doll modeled after the main character). All other class instruments/equipment will be provided.

The Monterey Community Band welcome’s all musicians that can read music well, provide their own band instrument and can commit to making rehearsals and performances. The new season begins Monday, September 11, 2017. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at the Monterey High School Music Room. Down Beat is at 6:45 p.m. Band Director is Kristen Thompson. The band performs at two concerts yearly and community events as well.

The City of Monterey will be accepting applications for a Mid-Year Special Event Grant Program until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 for events scheduled during Fiscal Year 2017-2018 (Sep 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018).
Join us for a FREE Star Wars themed afternoon of fun and engineering at the Monterey Youth Center using LEGO®. Bring your kids and build motorized AT-AT’s, race your Pod Racer through the Tatooine race track or add your own spin to a galaxy far, far away! This fun LEGO® build will engage and inspire everyone ages 4-99. Parents/Guardians must be present.
