The City of Monterey is in the process of preparing its Five-Year Consolidated Plan, required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The City anticipates receiving approximately $5M in funds over the next 5 years. The Consolidated Plan provides a strategy for addressing critical community development needs of City residents. Annual Action Plans summarize the actions, activities, and resources that will be used to address priority community needs and goals identified by the Consolidated Plan.
Activities eligible for CDBG funding for low- and moderate- income families and neighborhoods include:
- Community services
- Economic development assistance
- Improvements to public infrastructure and facilities
- Homelessness
- Affordable housing
Applicants for funding for the 2020-2021 Action Plan year are required to attend a planned Technical Assistance Workshop to understand funding restrictions and obtain guidance regarding funding application completion and submittal.
