11/15/2019: Narcotics Arrest

On November 13, 2019 at 1:50 PM, PRVNT assisted the Monterey County Probation Department with a probation search of the residence of Michael Ordonez in the 1700 block of Hilton Street in Seaside. During the search, a large amount of narcotics, drug sales indicia, and cash were located. A stolen purse from a theft in Salinas and an expandable baton were also recovered. NEWS RELEASE IN PDF

11-15-2019: Robbery and Theft Arrests

On November 14, 2019 at 11:57 AM, Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to the Starbucks at 2020 Del Monte Avenue regarding a report of a theft of a laptop computer. The victim reported he was inside the business when two suspects entered and stole his laptop computer from the table he was sitting at. One suspect took the computer while the other held the business door open to aid in their escape. Both suspects fled on foot and entered a waiting dark colored sedan. 10/22/2019: Community Alert: Suspected Fentanyl Overdoses

Over the last week, Monterey Peninsula law enforcement agencies have been dispatched to an increasing number of calls related to overdoses of counterfeit drugs suspected of containing fentanyl. Since Friday, October 18, 2019, the past several days, law enforcement has been made aware of five overdoses on the peninsula. It is suspected there are additional unreported overdoses. UPDATE FROM ORIGINAL NEWS RELEASE POSTED ON OCT. 8, 2019: NEWS RELEASE
During the course of the investigation into the armed robbery on 10/7/19, the Monterey Police Department located photos of the two suspects involved. The department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying these individuals.

Anyone with information on the identity of these suspects is encourage to contact Detective Zook at 831-646-3810. Or to remain anonymous call (831) 646-3840.

10/08/2109: Armed Robbery

On 10/07/19 at 9:47 PM Monterey Police Officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the area of Beach Way and Spray Avenue. Two victims reported they were walking together on foot through the area when they were confronted by two male suspects. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun which was passed back and forth between the two suspects. The suspects stole personal items belonging to the victims and fled in one of the victims’ cars. The stolen car was later recovered unoccupied by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office on Canario Street in Salinas. NEWS RELEASE IN PDF
