Draft 2019 CDBG Annual Report Available for Review

The City of Monterey has prepared its 2019-2020 draft Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds.

 The Report contains the following information:

  1. Financial data on revenues, activities, expenditures and accomplishments in programs for the following households: a) Very Low Income; b) Low income; c) Moderate-income.
  2. Narrative reports comparing the relationship of community needs and the use of funds to the objectives in the City’s Consolidated Plan for Housing Programs.

Due to COVID-19, City offices are currently closed to the public. This draft Report will be available for review beginning September 8, 2020 at the following City web pages: monterey.org, monterey.org/planning, monterey.org/housing

Public Input: The public is invited to attend a public hearing on Tuesday, September 15, during the City of Monterey Council meeting, to comment on the draft report. Additionally, the public is invited to address comments in writing to Grant Leonard, Administrative Analyst, 580 Pacific Street, Monterey CA 93940. The deadline for receiving written comments is September 24, 2020 by 5:00 p.m.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION

September 3, 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey has prepared a Mitigated Negative Declaration, pursuant to the requirements of CEQA, for the Greenbelt Fuel Reduction Project.

The proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration and Initial Study, as well as referenced documents, are available for review on the City website at: https://www.monterey.org/Services/Community-Development/Planning and by appointment at the City of Monterey, Planning Office, Colton Hall, 1st Floor, 570 Pacific Street, Monterey, CA 93940. To make an appointment, contact Christy Sabdo at the email address below.

In accordance with time limits mandated by State law, written comments on this Mitigated Negative Declaration and Initial Study will be accepted from: September 3, 2020 through October 5, 2020.

A public hearing for this project will be held on: October 27, 2020

Request For Proposals Affordable Housing Development Opportunity, Extended Deadline - October 2, 2020

Original date of Sep 4 extended to Oct 2, 2020 - The City of Monterey is pleased to announce that the date to submit proposals to develop four City-owned sites has been extended from 4:00 p.m. on September 4th to 4:00 P.M. on October 2nd. The City has received considerable interest and questions about the Request for Proposals and staff will be issuing an addemdum and a response to questions the week of August 24th. The extended timeline is intended to provide sufficient time for interested development teams to consider the addendum and response to questions prior to submitting their complete proposal.

The Monterey City Council is scheduled to hear a presentation with more details of the survey results at the September 1, 2020 Council Meeting. Agendas are posted at least 24 hours in advance at isearchmonterey.org.
