A second round of field groundwater contaminant remediation began at 951 Del Monte Avenue on the eastern end of Window-On-The-Bay Park on Monday, September 23, 2019, and will continue through Wednesday, October 2, 2019. The remediation work is being performed by environmental services firms Trinity Source Group, Inc. and Integral Consulting, Inc. on behalf of the City of Monterey and under regulatory oversight by the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. The remedial method is Enhanced Reductive Dechlorination, a non-toxic soil injection treatment that utilizes the natural microbial community to deconstruct the legacy pollutants for an improved environmental condition into the future.
