Purpose |
Assist in the daily implementation of program
curriculum for children ages 3-5. |

Duties |
With direct supervision of preschool staff,
assist in the daily implementation of program curriculum for children ages 3-5. Activities
include arts, crafts, cooking, music and movement, dramatic play, outdoor play, and
instruction in basic math and reading, listening and verbal skills. |

Qualifications |
Volunteers must enjoy working with young
children in an environment designed to enrich a child's world. Previous early childhood
education experience is welcomed but not necessary. A love of children is absolutely
essential. (Volunteers must have a current TB test and be fingerprinted.) |

Time Commitment |
Preschool classes meet from 10:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. The program schedule follows the MPUSD calendar
with minor exceptions. NOTE: The Recreation and Community Services Dept. is pleased to
consider Preschool Program volunteers who can contribute a minimum 3 hours shift per week,
as well as those who are available for the full 16 hours per week. |
