Kids' Saturday Night Out Volunteer

Service Area Monterey Youth Center
Purpose Assist in implementation of Kids' Saturday Night Out
Duties With direct supervision of youth Center staff, assist in the implementation of Kids' Saturday Night Out, a theme-based program for children ages 7-12 years old. supervised activities include pool, ping pong, nintendo, arts, crafts, organized games and board games. Pre-event duties involve assisting with set up and the "construction" of props relevant to the program theme. Volunteers will assist with preparation and serving of snacks. Volunteers will assist with post-event clean-up as well.
Qualifications Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and enjoy interaction with young children. Previous experience with playground or camp activities a plus but not necessary. Enthusiasm and a sense of fun and safety awareness are essential. Volunteers must have a current TB test and be fingerprinted.
Time  Commitment Kids' Saturday Night Out takes place on select Saturdays per program schedule from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight. The Recreation & Community Service Department is pleased to consider Kids' Saturday Night Out volunteers who can work select Saturdays only, as well as those who are interested in taking part in all scheduled events.
