5th Quarter Volunteer

Service Area Monterey Youth Center
Purpose Assist in conducting activities at Fifth Quarter, an event for Monterey High School students.
Duties With direct supervision of Youth Center staff, assist in conducting activities at Fifth Quarter, an event for Monterey High School students following all "home" football games in the fall. Students take part in a number of age appropriate activities in a relaxed, supervised environment including pool, ping pong, nintendo, music and dancing, and socializing. Volunteers will assist with preparing and serving pizza and soft drinks as well.
Qualifications Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and enjoy the "company" of young people. Previous experience working with teens is a plus! A positive, enthusiastic, upbeat approach to working with youth and an awareness of safety and proper deportment are an absolute must.
Time  Commitment Fifth Quarter is scheduled for Friday nights following Monterey High School football games (per the school's sports schedule) from 8 p.m. to midnight, September through December. NOTE: The Recreation & Community Services Department is pleased to consider Fifth Quarter volunteers who are available for select dates only, as well as those who are interested in contributing throughout the fall season.
