Purpose |
The Literary Activities
Volunteer assists staff in organizing and facilitating literary-based group
activities, and serves as monitor while the activities are in session. |

Duties |
The Literary Activities
Volunteer assists staff by helping to organize, facilitate and monitor book
discussion groups, writing workshops and other literary, reading and writing
activities that are developed by staff; greets customers; helps prepare and
distribute handouts; prepares and serves refreshments; and performs light
set-up and clean-up duties. |

Qualifications |
The ideal
Literary Activities Volunteer enjoys reading and/or writing and/or other
literary activities, has strong communication skills, works well with people
of all ages and backgrounds, performs duties with a high degree of
professionalism, is attentive to detail, responsible, committed and
punctual. |
|
Training |
A 1-2 hour training session will
be provided by staff, with additional training and meetings with supervisor,
as needed. |
|
Time Commitment |
2-4 hours per month with a
6-month minimum commitment |
