Volunteers –
A Vital Part of Our Community’s Success

Monterey volunteers actively assist city government in more than 100 different ways. What would our community be like without the Presidio Museum, bicycle safety rodeos, after school homework help, healthy flowers and trees, youth soccer teams, government TV programs, 4th of July festivities? Volunteers make it happen!

If you enjoy helping and working with people, completing projects, being dependable, and can make a commitment of some of your time – volunteer!

You can volunteer in a variety of programs and services. The City is committed to provide opportunities to local citizens for learning about city government through volunteering within various departments and through special projects.

This is a flexible program and you can give the time you feel is right. We have a wide range of opportunities from a couple of hours to long term assignments in most City departments.

If you have an interest or special talent to share, we want to talk to you! This program is committed to involving citizens and we are always looking for new ideas.
