What to Put
in the Green Cart

Cart (65-gallon)
- Plant Clippings
- Small Sticks & Twigs
- Grass
- Leaves
- Large Branches (tie into 4' by 2' long bundles and place along
cart)

Please: NO dirt, rocks, concrete, ceramics, lumber, paper, cactus,
ice plant or plastic waste, plastic bags, or garbage.
Material cannot be loaded over the top rim of cart. Lid must be
able to close.
EXTRA YARD
WASTE
Effective January 1, 2006, extra yard waste will no longer be collected in
any container other that an Monterey City Disposal Service supplied yard
waste cart, like the one in the picture above. Additional yard waste
carts can be obtained from Monterey City Disposal Service for a $4.50
monthly charge. We cannot pick up yardwaste in bags. Contaminated yard
waste will be picked up as trash and you will be billed $8.67, or it will
be left on the curb.
