What to Put in the Blue Cart


Blue Recycle Cart (65-gallon)

  • Plastic containers (numbered 1 through 7)
  • Aluminum and tin cans
  • Glass bottles, jars, and jugs
  • Plastic milk cartons
  • Newspaper & inserts
  • Magazines & catalogs
  • Soap, cereal & shoe boxes
  • Junk mail & stationary
  • Paper bags
  • Computer paper
  • Cardboard (Large cardboard must be flattened and tied in 2' by 3' bundles and placed by cart)
  • New Plastic Bag Recycling Program (posted Dec. 20, 2006)
    • Be sure bags are empty.
    • Place plastic bags inside another plastic bag and tie off top.
    • Place inside your blue recycling container.
    • No SINGLE BAGS.
    • Plastic bag recycling includes: stretchable, thin plastic including grocery and merchandise bags, produce and bread bags, Ziploc bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaner bags, and plastic packaging like on cases of soda and water.

Please: NO Styrofoam products, ceramics, drinking glasses, light bulbs, windows, or mirrors. NO carbon paper, bright/neon paper, hardback books, napkins, paper towels, or tissues.

Recycled containers must be empty and clean.

(Contaminated recycle will be picked up as trash and you will be billed $5.40 per container or may not be collected)
