BBQ/Picnic Facility Use Permit Application

Many of
Monterey's beautiful parks offer group BBQ/picnic areas
available for your private use. Reservations are made by purchasing
a BBQ/Picnic Facility Use
Permit. It's easy – just follow the steps below:

Visit our
BBQ/Picnic Areas page and click on the link for
a specific park. Call the contact number
listed to check park availability for
the date of your gathering.

If a Community Center is
located at the park you are interested in, or if you are
interested in reserving a area at Veteran’s
Memorial Park, please go to that park directly to purchase
your permit.

If the park you are interested
in lists the Recreation Administration office as the
location to purchase a permit, you have several
options. You may purchase your
permit in person; you may download a
BBQ/Picnic Facility Use Permit
Application, fill it in completely and legibly and fax it to 831.646.3880, or mail it to the
Recreation Administration office at 546 Dutra Street,
Monterey, CA. Once we receive your application and confirm
that the area is available we will
process your permit and mail it to you, or you may pick it up
at our office if you prefer.
Jump House/Inflatables Permit Application

of parks that allow jump houses/inflatables and follow the steps listed above.

Please call the Recreation Department at 831.646.3866 for a current list
of jump house vendors who have satisfied the City insurance requirements and are eligible
to do business in City parks. Privately owned Jump Houses/Inflatables may not be used
on City property.

Both a Jump House Permit
and BBQ/Picnic Facility Use Permit are required to use a jump
house/inflatable device in City parks. Jump House Permits are
not available without the purchase of a BBQ/Picnic Facility Use Permit which reserves the group
BBQ/Picnic area.

No climbing walls or water toys, e.g. waterslides or Slip
'N Slides, are allowed in the parks.
– All reservations are on a first-come,
first-serve basis. – BBQ/Picnic Facility Use Permits and Jump House Permits for Casanova Oak Knoll
Park, Hilltop Park and Veteran's Memorial Park are made at those
locations. – Reservations can not be made by
telephone. – Reservations are for the group BBQ/picnic
area only - the park remains open the the public. – One permit per day is issued for
each group BBQ/picnic area. Permit allows access between
the hours
of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. – Alcohol is permitted in the BBQ/picnic area
only. – A refundable key deposit is required for Whispering
Pines park. Keys must be picked up and
returned to the Recreation Administration Office.
Kits include 5 softballs, 3 bats,
1 volleyball, 1 volleyball net (no poles), 1 bocce ball set, 1
soccer ball, 1 football, and 1 Frisbee. For fee information please see our

Recreation Schedule of Fees. Proof of residency must be furnished at time of
reservation to receive the City resident discount. Call the Recreation and Community
