Working
with other City departments, contractors, consultants and the community, the Project
Development/Construction Management Division coordinates and supervises the construction
of the City's public facilities. This division also coordinates and develops the City's
annual Neighborhood Improvement Program and Capital Improvement Program.
Call us about NIP projects; City construction projects; weed/trash abatement; and
potential walkway hazards. Read below for more information.
Neighborhood
Improvement (NIP) Program Coordination
We interface with the Neighborhood Improvement Committee to develop a
program of annual projects for the Neighborhood Improvement Program for City
Council consideration. Established in 1985, NIP directs tourist-generated
tax dollars directly into the City's residential neighborhoods.

We issue Calls for Bids and Requests for Proposals, negotiate contracts and make
recommendations for award. We coordinate interdepartmental activities related to
construction projects and supervise and inspect construction contracts throughout the life
of the project.
Weed, Trash & Fire Hazard
Abatement Program
We coordinate with the Fire Department to follow up on reports of potential fire hazards
due to overgrowth of weeds or accumulation of trash.
Sidewalk/Walkway Hazard Abatement
We survey all of the City's sidewalks on a rotating basis to identify and correct hazards
and respond to citizen reports of potential sidewalk and walkway hazards.
Americans' Disability Act (ADA) Accessibility
We ensure that all City construction projects are completed in compliance with ADA
disabled accessibility requirements. In addition, new projects are developed as
funding becomes available to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities. Return to top |
