The following staff have been recognized by the Public Works Department for their outstanding contributions:

BRIAN MCMINN, Associate Civil Engineer

Brian, you are recognized for the number of challenging projects and management tasks including becoming the City’s Army engineer and the City’s pavement management expert this year. You’ve done all of this while carrying a full load of project designs.

Because of your ability to anticipate problems and explore all of the issues surrounding your projects you are able to produce exemplary bid documents.

KIRSTEN RIPHENBURG, Office Assistant II

Kirsten, you are an excellent example of what a City employee should be. You are always cheerful, willing to help and you do whatever is asked of you. When you are given a task to do, you do it in an exemplary fashion, usually going above what is asked of you. You have become an expert in Hansen.

LEROY THRASH, Senior Street Sweeper Operator

Leroy, what has set apart your 22 year career with the City is your dedication to the job both when you are working and not working. It’s not uncommon for you to check your areas on your own time to monitor the level of street cleaning and parking patterns. You routinely report back items that need to be addressed such as: signs, broken curbs, pot holes, graffiti, drainage inlets, etc.

Leroy, you have an excellent job of maintaining equipment that operates in a very hostile and dirty environment.
