City Forester Robert Reid becomes Certified Urban Forester

City of Monterey Forester Robert Reid has recently passed the test to become a Certified Urban Forester.  The certificate is issued by the California Urban Forest Council.   The California Urban Forest Council had awarded the City of Monterey the “Outstanding Urban Forestry Program” in 2002.

Robert spent many hours over a two-year period to prepare for the three-hour exam.  There are currently 31 Certified Urban Foresters, out of 140 who have taken the test.  It is anticipated that this program will go nationwide next year.  

Robert has been the Monterey’s Forester for 21 years.
