Project Construction - McAbee Beach Improvement
The City's contractor, James Sommerville, Inc. will
begin construction on Monday, March 31st for the McAbee
Beach Improvement Project. This project is funded by the City's
Capital Improvement Program.
The goal for this project is to improve access to the
beach along the Cannery Row area. The work is located in a vacant
lot along Cannery Row, between Hoffman and Prescott Avenues. The
work includes construction of walkways and stairs, and installation
of boulders for walkway edging and necessary handrailing.
Minimal traffic delays due to intermittent lane
closures are anticipated. Construction noise should be expected
during construction. The estimated completion date for this project
is early May, 2008. For project scheduling and updated information,
