Help Needed in Identifying Graffiti Suspects

Between 11:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 and 3:00 A.M. on April 9, 2008, unknown suspects vandalized the Cannery Row Garage, 601 Wave Street, with graffiti.  In this instance, the suspects maliciously “tagged” the elevators and walls in the garage. Fortunately, the surveillance camera on the elevator captured images of the suspects in the act. A photograph of the suspects is attached.

The tagging associated with these two suspects has also been discovered in six (6) other locations throughout the City, resulting in hundreds of dollars worth of damage. The total damage done by the vandals in all instances that evening is in the thousands of dollars.

The Monterey Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying the suspects in this case.  Anyone with information is asked to contact School Resource Officer Paul Oelfke at 831.646.5600 extension 2007 or via email at oelfke@ci.monterey.ca.us .

For information, please contact Deputy Chief Philip J. Penko at 831.646.3805 or penko@ci.monterey.ca.us .
