Immediate
Graffiti Suspect Arrested
On April 12,
2008 at about 2:00 A.M., two parked Monterey Police cars were
“tagged” with graffiti in the 300 block of Alvarado while the
officers were investigating a call. When the officers returned, a
witness to the incident provided them with a suspect and vehicle
description. The vehicle was quickly located and Cody Hubbard, a
22-year-old male from Salinas was identified and arrested for felony
vandalism.
Further investigation revealed that Hubbard’s tag of “OATH” has been
found throughout Monterey and in several other cities. The Monterey
Police Department has linked Hubbard to seventeen other cases of
vandalism in the City dating back to 2006.
Hubbard was booked at the Monterey County Jail and held on
$75,000.00 bail. All seventeen cases identified as occurring in the
City of Monterey have been forwarded to the District Attorney’s
office for prosecution. The damage of all the cases combined is
approximately $2000.00.
