During this 8-week course, meeting
Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., participants will receive classes
in police investigations, traffic enforcement, community services,
firearms, defensive tactics, city government, patrol procedures and
more. This course is not meant to train people to be police
officers; rather, it is intended to open communication and connects
the police department with you, the people we serve. We will be
recruiting for our Police Volunteers (MVPs) so if you’re interested
in this exciting volunteer opportunity now is the time.
To be eligible, one must be at least 19
years of age, live or work in the City of Monterey, have no
misdemeanor arrests within the last 12 months, and have no felony
