Beginning in 2024, the City of Monterey began implementation of the “Daylighting Bill”, State Assembly Bill (AB) 413, with the law coming into full effect January 1, 2025. Daylighting is the practice of removing parking spaces near crosswalks and intersection to improving public safety by increasing the visibility of pedestrians and bicyclists for drivers.
