The City of Monterey presents rotating art
exhibits at the Alvarado Gallery in the
Monterey Conference Center. The Gallery provides an opportunity for
residents and visitors to celebrate the rich artistic and cultural
heritage of the Monterey area. A call for artwork is usually conducted

Surfing
Lifestyle celebrates the surfing culture as captured by local artist
Andy Williams. His oil paintings and cut-outs depict local surf
scenes and surfers. |

Textures and Colors of Monterey is a
study by Carol Keyes of the historic elements of Monterey. Carol
mixes 3-dimensional constructs and mixed media paintings to deliver a
vibrant picture of our town. |

Monterey's
11th Cavalry watercolor paintings by Dorothy Smith Stoffey
take us back to a time when the Presidio was alive with the 11th Cavalry
prior to World War II. These paintings depict the skillful horsemanship
of the regiment at play and on parade. |

Location and Hours
Alvarado Gallery is located on the second floor of the
Monterey Conference Center,
One Portola Plaza (Del Monte Ave. at Calle Principal) in downtown
Monterey. The Conference Center is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday
through Friday, and may be open on weekends for scheduled events. Check
the
