SPST Alma Altamirano
Senior
Police Services Technician (SPST) Alma Altamirano began her service with
the Department as a Police Services Technician in October 2004.
She was promoted to the position of Senior Police Services Technician in
18 short months. Since her promotion, Alma has solidified
her reputation as a Team player, who maintains a positive can-do
attitude through both the good and the tough times. Her
willingness to step up to help any employee, and to train or mentor less
tenured employees is evident to everyone she contacts on a daily basis.
Alma has distinguished herself as one of the go-to people in our Records
Division. Our Staff praised Alma for her exceptional ability
to garner their trust, respect, and confidence through her superior
performance.
Throughout 2008, Alma demonstrated that she is an exceptional employee.
During several months this past year, we found ourselves without the
service of both of our Records Supervisors. During that time, Alma
stepped up as a true leader and point of reference with the Records
Division.
These qualities and attributes were not lost on anyone that worked with
her. During the year-end nomination and selection process for this
award the following comments regarding Alma were offered as confirmation
of her superior performance and positive impact on the organization this
past year.

have seen her take the extra step to provide exceptional customer
service at the front counter."

organized, flexible, creative and efficient, but most importantly...she
gives 100% to the organization. Alma truly displays the
professionalism deserving of this award."
And lastly, from a Chief's perspective, "Alma has clearly demonstrated
that she embraces and champions the Department's Mission, which is,
'Responsive to All, Second to None, Every Time', as well as our Axiom of
'Service, Honor & Commitment'. These principles are the true
standard by which all employees are measured in our organization and I
can attest to the fact that Alma passes this test with flying colors."
