Monterey Public Library and Pacific Grove Public Library will accept donations of unopened, non-perishable food in lieu of fines for overdue library materials from November 25 through January 2. All donations will be given to the Food Bank for Monterey County, which is in great need at this time of the year. The libraries benefit by having overdue items returned so that others may borrow them. Bring your food donations to the public libraries in Monterey or Pacific Grove, or to the Monterey Public Library Bookmobile.
