Library
and Community Partners Present Workshop for Volunteer Coordinators on
Engaging a New Generation of Volunteers
Monterey Public Library, in partnership with the City of Monterey, the
Monterey Bay Aquarium and California State Parks invites volunteer
coordinators from agencies across the Peninsula to participate in a workshop
on how to engage baby boomer generation volunteers led by volunteer expert
and author Jill Friedman Fixler, on Thursday, August 6, from 8:30 a.m. - 4
p.m., in the Ferrante Room, at the Monterey Conference Center.
Baby Boomers make up one-third of our local community. The members of
this powerful generation (born 1946 - 1964) are now prime ages for
volunteering. This workshop is designed to help your agency engage this next
wave of volunteers, to make the shift from volunteer management to volunteer
engagement and to increase your organization's capacity with high-impact
volunteers.
Copies of Ms. Friedman Fixler's book Boomer Volunteer Engagement:
Collaborate Today; Thrive Tomorrow will be available for purchase at the
workshop.
Admission is free, but pre-registration in required. To sign up call 831.646.5602 or e-mail Labeaune@ci.monterey.ca.us. The Monterey Conference Center is located at 1 Portola Plaza, Monterey, California.
