Boomer
Education 101
Monterey Public Library presents a three-part class, "Boomer
Education 101", led by Bob Petty, Community Education Director of
the Alliance on Aging on Tuesdays, May 5, 12, and 19, 5:30 -
7:00 p.m., in the Library Community Room.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 8,000 Americans turn 65
each day. "Boomer Education 101" is a 3-session class designed to
help members of the Boomer Generation prepare for major changes in
their lives as they approach 65. Topics will include a comprehensive
look at Medicare benefits, when and how to sign up, and what other
health insurance is needed; Social Security, the program's
relationship with Medicare, and how it works if you're still
employed or retired after age 65; Long-Term care insurance, and
more.
The classes are free, but seating is limited, so early arrival is
recommended. The Library is located at 625 Pacific Street, Monterey.
