What?
Catch the Reading Bug @ Your Library is a free, non-competitive reading program for adults. You are invited to read
any book, review it, and earn a ticket for our prize drawings! The more you read, the more chances you have to win!
There is no required reading, but we've created a list of bug
related books for those interested:
Bug Non-Fiction!
Participants are also invited to join a monthly book discussion group the first Thursday of the month at 12:00 noon in the library.
Bug the puppy will be a special guest throughout the summer.
Where?
Pick up and turn in review forms at the Monterey Public Library.
625 Pacific Street, Monterey, CA 93940 or on the Bookmobile
When?
June 1st through August 31st 2008. Prize drawings will be
every Sunday for giftcards (limit one per person) and the grand
prize winner for the Picnic Prize Basket will be drawn on
September 1st (everyone is eligible) - winners will be notified by phone.
Why?
You don't need to be a kid to enjoy summer reading!
How?
Simply read a book and then come to the library for a buggy
review slip or download and print one of the pdf's: (beetle,
fly, ladybug,
spider). Fill out the portion asking for the book's title
and author and write a review. When finished, return the
reviews to the Reference Desk or Bookmobile. One ticket
for entry in the prize drawings will be given for each completed
review. Also stop by the fiction section on the second
floor of the library to check out everyone else's buggy reviews
and get ideas for what to read next.
