Monterey Public Library offers 13 public workstations, 10 laptop computers for use in the Library, and free wireless Internet access. The Library offers a variety of electronic notifications to keep you up-to-date about new titles in the collection, library news, and upcoming events through your e-mail or RSS feeds.
Interlibrary Loan (suspended)
Interlibrary loan service has been suspended due to Library budget and staff reductions. This does not affect holds placed on materials found in the Library Catalog. We recognize that ILL service is valuable to many Library customers, and we suspend it with regret and apology. If you would like assistance locating an item at a nearby library, or if you would like a referral to local libraries providing interlibrary loan service, please call 831.646.3933 or e-mail a Reference Librarian.

 The Library offers two meeting rooms which may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by non-profit organizations for meetings and events. Click here for information about how to reserve the meeting rooms or contact the Administration Office (831.646.5669).
Volunteers deliver books and other Library materials to people prevented by physical disabilities or other handicaps from visiting the Library or the Bookmobile. For information about receiving outreach service or becoming an Outreach volunteer, contact Joanne White (831.646.3710).
 The Library welcomes and provides a variety of services for teens. These include our TeenZone space that invites teens to socialize, study, and find books, graphic novels, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines especially selected for teens. Events are offered throughout the year, including after school programs, contests, a summer reading program, and an open Teen Advisors Group that helps improve library services to teens. All librarians work with teens to help with school research, reading suggestions, and other information.  The Library offers a full range of professional services to children of all ages and their families, including reading readiness, homework and school project resources, information, and assistance with reading selections. The Born to Read program celebrates the birth of your baby and helps babies and their families get a head start on a lifetime of reading with storytimes and special activities.
