The Friends of the Monterey Public Library and the MPL Endowment Committee will host a presentation on Moving Out of Pain with the Feldenkrais Method (R) with Brian J. Ellinoy, Pharm.D and Seth Paris, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitoner, on Wednesday, August 3, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., in the Library Community Room. 

Part of the Next Chapter: Designing Your Ideal Life lecture series, the presentation will discuss how the Feldenkrais Method can help relieve the suffering of chronic pain, and show how to coordinate the body more efficiently to ease strain, improve comfort and relearn pattern of pain-free movement.  Adults, especially in the second half of life, are invited to attend.  Admission is free, but seating reservations are required.

The Friends of the Monterey Public Library and the MPL Endowment Committee present Bill Benda, M.D., speaking on the topic of "Integrative Medicine - Discerning Fact from Fiction When Seeking Unconventional Therapies" on Wednesday, July 20, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., in the Library Community Room.  Dr. Benda will discuss the science of Integrative Medicine and offer his clinical, research and political experience to create a better understanding of how this arena may help individuals with their own health challenges.

The Monterey Public Library presents Being Here in Writing for teens on Wednesday, July 6, from 2 - 4 p.m., in the Library Solarium.  Work with former Teen Writing Group leader Deanna Lynn on crafting your own writing voice by connecting with your surroundings. Meet other writers and get inspired. Free journal for the first 10 writers to arrive.
