The Monterey Public Library will present a "California Reads" book discussion of the memoir Farewell to Manzanar with author Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, on Monday,  April 16, 4 - 5:30 p.m., in the Library Community Room. 

The author was seven years old in 1942 when her family was uprooted from their home and sent to live at Manzanar with 10,000 other Japanese Americans.  Join a discussion of this groundbreaking memoir with the author. 

California Reads programs are made possible with support from Cal Humanities in partnership with California Center for the Book.  Read the book and join the discussion.
