Monterey Public Library presents Bob Petty of Partners for Transitions for a 3-part program on Tuesdays January 10, 17 and 24, designed to help the Boomer Generation prepare for some major changes that are just around the corner.  Topics covered include Medicare benefits, Social Security, continued employment after age 65 and long-term insurance.  Admission is free and no reservations are necessary.  Attend one or all of the programs.

The Monterey Public Library will be closed for the Christmas holiday December 23 through December 27, and will be closed for the New Year's holiday on Monday, January 2.  Online services including catalog and  database searching, renewals, reserves and e-book downloads will be available as usual from the Library's Web site. Food for Fines
The public libraries in Monterey and Pacific Grove will be accepting non-perishable, unopened food items in lieu of payment for overdue fines throughout the month of December. All food donations will be given to the Food Bank for Monterey County, which distributes food to individuals and families in need.  The Monterey Public Library is located at 625 Pacific Street, Monterey, and the Pacific Grove Public Library is located at 550 Central Avenue, Pacific Grove.  For more information call 831.646.3747 or 831.648.5760.

Adrenal fatigue is a term used to describe sub-optimal functioning of the adrenal glands, which is thought to affect 80% of adults in the U.S., largely undiagnosed.  During this lecture, Dr. Ow till discuss symptoms and stages of adrenal fatigue, what tests help diagnose it, and how Naturopathic Medicine can help you recover from it.  There will also be a brief general discussion of Naturopathic Medicine.  Dr. Ow is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who has been serving the Salinas Valley and Monterey for four years.  She received her doctorate from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, the nation's largest school of natural health sciences.  This lecture is part of The Next...

The Monterey Public Library presents "Yankee Doodles, Dreams and Dangers", a variety show style musical journey through music of the north eastern region of United States with MaryLee Sunseri, on Friday, November 18, at 4 p.m.

Ages 5-up are invited to attend.  Admission is free, on a first-come, first-served basis, but free passes will be available 90 minutes prior to the event, if you want to be assured of a seat.
