Media Contact:  Jeanne McCombs 831.646.3949 / mccombs@ci.monterey.ca.us The Monterey Public Library is now accepting proposals for entries to a Summer Teen Art Show, open to young artists ages up to age 20. The show will be  exhibited on the Linda McCabe Memorial Teen Art Wall in the Library Teen Zone from June 1 through October 1, 2011.   Entries should relate to this year's summer reading theme "You Are Here", and should feature a sense of place or self in landscape, portrait, or any genre of your choice. Recommended sizes are between 8" x 10" and 36" x 60", and works for consideration must have hanging wires attached. Proposals must include a completed application, which may be downloaded from the Library's Web site or picked up at the Library, and a photograph of the art work to be considered.  For complete details and an application form visit http://www.monterey.org/library/artwall.html, or pick up a paper copy in the Library. Ellinoy, Pharm.D. discussing An Integrative Approach to Insomnia on Thursday, May 5, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., in the Library Community Room.  Do you have difficulty with initially falling asleep or getting back to sleep after waking in the middle of the night?   Keeping oneself healthy requires good sleep.  Dr. Ellinoy will discuss the basics of sleep hygiene and offer some integrative approaches to help you get the good sleep you need. The lecture is is part of new series of programs, Next Chapter: Designing Your Ideal Life, which include health and well-being, planning for the future, following ones spirit and other interesting topics for the second half of life.

The talk is part of the Next Chapter: Designing Your Idea Life series of programs, which covers health and well-being, planning for the future, following one's spirit and other interesting topics for the second half of life.  The artist, author of Monet’s Passion, will talk about ways to live a rich life using imagination and creativity to connect to what has heart and meaning. This is an introductory talk to The Green Heart series of workshops that Ms. Murray she leads at her artist cottage in Monterey.
