What's a database?
Does your teacher say you can’t use the internet for research? Use a library database instead!
A database contains information from magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias and reference books. Information in our databases has been verified by an editor, just like the information in a book. Once you pick a database, you may have to use your Monterey Public Library card to log in. Then, just look for a search box and type in words that describe the information you need. Don’t forget to show your teacher which database you used! Look for the word ‘citation’ and copy that information. If you need more help, come ask a librarian! We’re glad to help.
