Crafting for Adults!

Join us in the Community Room for some crafty fun! The craft for May is Paste Paper Pandemonium!

Space is limited! Please sign-up at the Library Help Desk, call 831-646-3933, or email refdesk@monterey.org. Adult Craft Club meets the first Sunday of the month unless there's a holiday. Basic supplies to complete the craft are provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

Here is a practice lab for serious storytellers who wish to practice the art and craft of the oral tradition, supported by peers.  You are invited to practice family and personal stories, stories from literature and history.  There is no expert or trainer on hand and this is not a writer's lab. This is your opportunity to practice telling stories without a non-peer audience.  For adults.  Free.  Questions?  Email mccombs@monterey.org.

Did you know the library offers free ebooks? Have you been meaning to try using them but aren't sure how to get started? Get stuck the last time you tried? Want tips and tricks to maximize your usage? Would some one-on-one assistance help get you started? Our Library Technology Volunteer Steven will help! Bring your device and/or laptop and we'll walk through the steps. Reserve a spot by calling the library help desk at (831) 646-3933 or emailing refdesk@monterey.org.  Monday Nights, 6:30-7:30pm, May 2nd and 16th, June 6th and 20th. Appointments available at 6:30, 6:50, and 7:10.

Monterey Public Library presents " Garden Gems of California" with Doug Stafford, Tuesday, May 10, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the library Community Room. Doug is an enthusiastic lecturer with a broad knowledge of garden history, and an extensive professional background in horticulture and landscape design. He has visited 70 European and 90 American gardens. Doug was Park Superintendent for the City of Monterey for 24 years. Admission is free. No reservations are required.
