Thursday, June 30, 3:15 p.m.

For everyone who's does book club during the year and said, "Hey, we should do it in the summertime too," here you go! Book club is now year-round.

For those of you who've never done book club with us, all you do is show up, vote for the book you most want to read and see if that book is selected as the Book of the Month. A copy of the book will be ordered in your name and given to you. The only thing you are promising to do is to come back the following month to discuss what you read and to vote for the next book.

If you love to write and want a chance to share your writing with others, join Teen Writers Group for High School and Middle School students. This group meets monthly during the school year for writing exercises and critique circles, but this summer we're going to do something a little different.

This summer you guys will be "Writing to Win a Chance for Publication". Teen writers will be given the chance to submit up to 1500 words of their work (short story, chapter of a novel, 3-5 poems, essay, speech, etc) and 25 entries will be chosen to appear in a Library Anthology which will be published and made available for check-out in the Library. Winners will receive a free copy.

This will be a real publication and an excellent opportunity to fatten up your writing resume. Specific guidelines on how to enter will be given out on the date of the meeting. Those interested in participating can pick one up during the program, or later, the rules will appear online. The last day to submit will be on July 27th at midnight.
